Increasingly, the data science community is working to solve problems for social good. Efforts to apply data science to human rights causes, such as combating human trafficking, gender inequality, and disparity in healthcare, have the potential to impact millions of lives globally. This Tech Node provides an interactive opportunity for participants to share insights gained from working on projects that use data science to solve challenges in the field of human rights or social entrepreneurship. After hearing some examples of past projects from the facilitators, participants will get the chance to share their own experiences. Topics of discussion will include data accessibility, stakeholder alignment, civic engagement mechanisms such as hackathons, best practices, and lessons learned.
